Chambres d’Hotes check-in is from 4pm to 8pm and check-out is by 10am. Please do let us know what time you plan to arrive so we can greet you and show you to your room.

Gite check-in is from 4pm and check-out is by 10am. The keys will be locked in a key box and the code sent to you on the day of your arrival.

Because we are a small business reliant upon seasonal bookings, cancellations have a considerable impact. We therefore adhere strictly to our cancellation policy without exception. In the unfortunate event that you do need to cancel a refund (minus the 10% reservation deposit) is given up to 1 week prior to your arrival date.
Cancellations within 1 week of your arrival date will not be refunded. We strongly advise taking holiday insurance to cover any unforeseen problems which may lead to you having to cancel.

For direct bookings a full refund is given up to 24 hours prior to your arrival date. For non-direct bookings (eg Booking dot com, Airbnb, Expedia etc ) a full refund is given up to 3 days prior to your arrival

A deposit of 10% of the total booking amount is required to secure your reservation and is non-refundable. The balance is required 7 days prior to your arrival date.

350 euros for each gite. The security deposit is pre-authorised on your validated credit card prior to your arrival and released within 2 days of your departure.

A gite can be booked for a minimum of 2 nights.

Bed linen, bathroom and kitchen towels are provided free of charge. Pool towels are not provided with gite rentals.

The bedrooms in the chambres d’hotes are on the first floor. Each gite has 1 bedroom on the ground floor.

Yes all the rooms have their own private en-suite.

No. There is an extra charge for our delicious continental ‘plus’ breakfast.

We welcome cyclists and walkers. An evening meal can be provided with advance notice, or bring a picnic and enjoy eating your dinner on the terrace or in the salon.

Bikes are available to hire from www.bikehiredirect.com. We suggest booking your bikes as soon as possible as they are very popular. Your bikes will be delivered to our property and collected after your holiday. You can also bring your own and enjoy the miles of tracks and quiet country lanes directly from the door.

The racetrack is only 30 minutes away. It has a very busy calendar of events throughout the year, check out their website for upcoming events.

Yes the owners live on site. They remain discreet but are there to maintain the pool and grounds and make sure everything is perfect for your stay. They are always happy to help if you have any questions.

There are 3 bed and breakfast rooms in the main house. La Charente 2 people, La Vienne 2 people and Le Clain 1 person. There are no pull out beds, cots, sofa beds or extra mattresses available.

Each gite accommodates a maximum of 4 people. There is a main bedroom on the ground floor with a king size bed and a second bedroom on the first floor mezzanine.

Each room has a hairdryer. An iron and ironing board can be provided on request.

Each room has a kettle and complimentary tea, herbal teas, coffee and decaf. There is a shared salon/breakfast room with a fridge and microwave for guests to use.

Smoking and vaping is not permitted in any of the accommodation or by the pool. If you do smoke, ashtrays are provided away from the accommodation and other guests.

La Vieille Gorce is located in the countryside yet only 5 minutes by car to the nearest town of Charroux 86250 where there is a choice of bars and restaurants. There are more restaurants and bars about 15 minutes away in Civray and Confolens is only 20 minutes away by car.

Yes the pool is heated to 28 degrees centigrade.

The nearest TGV is 15 minutes away at St Saviol, and Ruffec is 30 minutes away, changing at Poitiers. The nearest Airports are Limoges, Poitiers, and Angouleme all approximately 1 hour away respectively.

Our local supermarket in Charroux is only 5 minutes away. The bigger supermarkets Intermarche, SuperU and Lidl are approximately 15 minutes away in Savigne and Civray. The nearest filling station is at Intermarche, Savigne. The nearest electric charging point is in Charroux.
